For week one I wanted to focus on applying a material texture to the concrete. The base was made from blue foam core and the material was a very dense mesh placed at the bottom of the mold. The mesh wasn't sealed with anything and after removing the concrete the mesh was embedded within the concrete, fortunately the mesh was near the base of the block and exposed so that I could grab ahold of on side and pry it off.
