This week I tried to use rice as aggregates. The left hand side is 2 part ready mix concrete (I have removed the large aggregates) and 1 part rice, 1 part water. I mixed the rice with the concrete before adding water. The right hand one is cement , sand and rice , in the same ratio as the ready mix concrete.
The one with ready mixed concrete come out with most of the rice floating on the surface. For the next test I will keep the same concrete water ration with double or triple use of rice. The cement and sand one did not settle and the rice sticks at one corner.
